terrific effort from those who wanted the format changed from FUN to money , where are they ? now
I don't know about you Mick but when I offer a pup for sale, I ask for a deposit. The deposit guarantees the buyer will return or (s)he'll forfeit their deposit.
I've asked for a similar scenario with the tipping comp that also guarantees members will front up "Week-in, Week-out". Watching members drop out because their name is not at the top of the tree, is not ideally on my side of the fence mate.
And another thing. I'm not in it for money. If I was, I would've asked for a weekly fee for my time over the last 2 years.
I'm in it for fun but simply looking for a commitment from everyone to stay involved from start to finish.

For what it's worth, I was in it last year and kind of gave up half way through, with the money option I'll make sure to keep going, hope it goes ahead, thanks Steven.

I think me and francis are the only people from ireland/UK in last years.. I think people maybe think this is a Australian thing. Maybe a simple private ad in the irish section and UK section explaining everyone is welcome for a small fee of 50 dollars for the year. I think that's the problem not enough know about it

Actually I'm happy with either option but with less prizes donated this year the money option (+ donated prizes) seems the best solution. It's a shame more people haven't shown interest but thems the breaks. Why don't you start another topic calling for interest in a non monetary tipping comp and we'll see how we go. After all you seem to have all the answers!
i neither offered suggestions or solutions , merely a simple opinion

Steve , if it helps get the comp up and running , ill put in $500.00 to be drawn at random , at the end of the comp , to be in the draw you must tip every week no exceptions , so even if you are down the track with your tipping you still have the chance to win $500.00

Hi Mick. As I've already explained, I'm out.
I'm sure whoever decides to run this year's comp will accept your generous offer.
Cheers, Steve.

In the states we have Bigjackpotbetting greyhound handicapping contest three times a week - FREE to play-$100 to winner. On Sunday for the next few months they are having qualifying FREE rounds at SL where the top 5 finishers will compete later in the year for $2500. I have only won once and collected one $50 second prize once- over 300 players compete each contest.
The Greyhound Channel offers a FREE Wed. weekly contest -$25 top prize -elimination rounds with a month ending $200 prize. I have won only one monthly title but finished sadly second 4 times.
The Greyhound Channel offers another FREE Saturday evening $100 contest to the winner with a chance for another $100 if the contestant beats their pro on Monday. Every winner is slotted for the championship at the end of the year. I have won once in each of the last few years beating the pro once.
The Greyhound Channel is currently having a last handicapper standing contest for months 43 races $6 a round with a $500 first prize -five cash prizes in all. I am currently 4th but only $6.60 out of first.
American Greyhounds has a weekly FREE contest where we compete for shirts ,hats, and programs - we have competed against each other for over a decade- Jim Peake Voice of DERBY LANE, Jim Ross internet /voice of Orange Park, and outstanding person and splendid capper Barry Baldwin - SL Barry Baldwin stakes fame all compete. I cherish any win in this contest above the rest. My best trophy win was the Derby Lane Million dollar race program.
You don't need big prizes -a hat is cool enough -if you love the sport and competing. If I can win at these anybody can. lol.
