Was offered chicken at rite price. How many times should I mince it to be sure bones are "dissolved". Very afraid of dogs choking.

there is chicken mince then there is real chicken mince some people mince the frames where there is no meat at all just frames and the there is chicken frames with meat and skin on it which is a lot better and some people can buy the chicken that is brused and broken that is all chicken that is the best buy of them all.

Nice to see your still asking silly questions just to c your name appear on the computer. lol lol

Have you ever trained a winner yet. lol lol

Wat about the litter you reared that came out off the boxes and went 10 yards and then turned around in a circle with excitement before heading around the track again???????????????

Did you ever find the father off them pups because i reckon they were bred by a sheep dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol lol lol

Beef , brisket bones, kibble, boiled veges, good calcium, fish, stews.
Why pay big money for a pup then feed it the cheapest meat?

I once ran out of beef due to the misus screwing my pick up so in the arvo I went to local butcher and he showed me a box of chicken mash so I asked him how much he said I buy it for $6 a 25kg box (quality product) anyways I got 8 kilos to get me through the weekend and when I got home I went to put it in the bowls as I thought it was chicken mince and when I felt the bones I thought what the? So I rang him up and asked him what it was he told me all the rubbish, carcasses fat scrap?

I got off the phone tipped the bowls out in the bin with the other 4 kilos of rubbish and went down to a wholesale meat guy and got 10 kilos 100% beef mince at a juicy $8 a kilo and swore never to run out of meat or contemplate feeding my greyhounds cheap crap even if it was just a day or two when stuck!

They are what they eat!

Nearly every top trainer around here feeds half horse, half minced chicken frames, and that includes Bate and Daillys.
They must get better than what they eat???

Dogs in the wild would have eaten ducks, geese and any other bird they could catch along with rabbits and other prey.

It makes for a diversity in the diet.

You talking about greyhounds or Italian sheep herders?

Take into account this was probably written about domestic pets. Wether it can be used in relation to working animals, the smarties will let us know.

Here's a couple of paragraphs from a ROD DEAKIN article done by the QLD Journal many years ago...........in relation to feeding 'CHICKEN'.......

"And the second surprise with Deakin's young matrons and their offspring is that their main food was chicken.

Deakin swung over to chicken some years back after studying a report by the National Academy of Science of the research council of the USA comparing it with horse, beef and liver."

Not feeding 'chicken' as a food for dogs is a big mistake...........it has essential elements in it that other meats don't have...........that dogs do require.

If you'd like a copy of the 'DEAKIN' article.........list your email address and I'll send it on.

This article has a table to indicate the comparisons between diffferent meats in it...........it's a 2 part article done on this truely great greyhound participant.

In thinking about it I use Advance Kibble which is Chicken based.

I wonder if there is any additional benefit to using Chicken Mince if you are using this kibble - but will check out the article.

Lance have reared many pups to racing stage on a mixture including chicken mince. Every pup we have reared has won races. City winners and a track record holder. Might of gone better if we hadn't who knows but I do know many who believe the same as you (cheap crap)and a lot of their dogs go worse than ours. I also feed them a lot of fat which is cheaper still but as I say they may go better if I fed them more of the more expensive stuff but when I did in the past they went no better and I guess no worse so it is definitely debateable
