He has an interesting pedigree well suited to current racebitches and broods. Id say wed breed a litter with him down the track.

De Ferran broke the Bundaberg 531m track record today running 29.71 in the Cup Consolation

The Cup winner Springview Magic led all the way and ran 29.91

Yep, De Ferran sets the track record at 29.71 - winning the Bundaberg Cup consolation. Takes his PM to $105,595 and the litters to $219,895

De Ferran is a beauty I've liked his style from the word go. He hasn't had much luck lately. With a bit of good fortune early in his races, he might even crack a lower class Group race.

I think he lost at least a length going wide in the home turn. Very good effort.

He gains momentum using that technique of corning. He did the same last week. He uses the corner like a cyclist on a velodrome.

Hes often hitting these turns at top speed and so struggles to get around them.
Imo he will run 600 and be a star.

Great win to DF in the Tropy race at Ipswich last night as 1/3 on fav. He was super impressive, ran time and absolutely powered around the track in easily BON figures.

Very happy with him - flying 5.27 start, scorching middle split 12.98 (rec 12.83), his best is 12.94 and broke 12 on the run home (11.97) - overall 30.22 BON

33 starts 19-2-3 PM $114,365 / litter PM $247,265

Great team effort - giving us all a great ride!

What did the commentator mean when he said De Ferran was "quirky" before his race tonight?

It means, at Albion, hes very hit or miss from the boxes and likes room to move into the first bend there as well. Gerard Daffy was the commentator tonight and read last weeks heat to perfection! He cost himself the lead, by wanting to make some room for himself at the first turn and then got galloped on and dragged down. Giving Postman Pat a soft lead. De Ferran 5.51, Postman Pat 5.47 was only a half length, not clear run to the lead as it played out. Why I mentioned Pat was a risk to lead in the final, after drawing box 8. That goes for all dogs, you need luck from that box, because youre 1/2 a length slower to the turn, than you are drawn inside. Go watch, Hello Mike and Springtime Jet! Its how De Ferran beat Hello Mike in his heat of the Golden Ticket.

The real ability of De Ferran can be seen at Ipswich. Where he can explode as good as any dog from the boxes and as a result with all that forward momentum, regularly breaks 13 seconds down the back and 12 secs on the run home for a couple of tenths off the record at the time. Not to mention blowing Adulate (Albion 600m 34.53) away in track record time at Bundy.
