He then highlighted the need to support the track over the Christmas period which is a vital time for the track to generate funds to support itself through the rest of the year. He finished by explaining how he had taken a lot of criticism over the past year as people had mistakenly blamed him for issues which were beyond his control and were a matter for Drumbo track itself. Click advised that Tom Barry had resigned from present committee due to conflict of interest with his current role at the track and thanked Tom for his work. Weekly sponsored 200 winner DTSC races ( 240 for two races weekly ) 2. Buster winners 4275 2022 Accounts Net deficit of 421 Kieran advised group of significant increase in support of track by club in last 4 years. In 2018 DTSC expenditure in supporting track was just over 8000, this year it has risen to almost 27000 and will rise to 31000 at the end of this month on completion of advertised competitions (a fourfold increase in support). This is an incredible level of support for the track but again this is only possible with your support and sponsors and the hard work and efforts of committee members. Kieran concluded by thanking all Sponsors and everyone who has bought busters this year without which the level of support the club give to the track would not be possible. Members Registration: Kurtis Bain (Secretary) reported that there were 226 members, 12 of which were juniors. This was down on last year where there were 300 members. It was then suggested by the chairman that members should urge family members or friends to support the club by joining. Membership for the year 2023 is now open and anyone wishing to join can see any committee member (Annual Fee remains at 10) IGOBF/NGOBA: Nigel Bain (Committee Member) stated that this is a beneficial group to be affiliated with it at gave a voice to Northern Owners at national level as the group represents the interests of all greyhound owners. It costs club 150 euro per year membership and the benefits include 500 sponsorship for the clubs end of year sponsored meeting. The IGOBF are also sponsoring a trial stake at Drumbo Park on 12th November 2022 for the upcoming IGOBF National Puppy Stake at Shelbourne Park. AOB: Members Query on difference between Club sponsored stakes : Kieran outlined how sponsoring a competition works and the difference between 500 and 1000 to the winner stakes as there was confusion among members over the structure of prizemoney and what was available to sponsors from Track. Kieran advised if we run a 1000 to winner stake it costs club 770 for the competition if we have a sponsor that will contribute 500. We can only run this value of a stake if we have a sponsor. Whereas to run a 500 to the winner competition cost club 550, if we have no sponsor. The track also offer a package to all sponsors who contribute 500 or more to any stake. Several other issues were then discussed with dialogue between the committee and attendees such as: More entries needed for competitions Trap draws done online and more transparent, credit to the new racing manager Glenn Reid Security issues at track Kennels Competition draws at semi-final and final stage to be made in front of bookies on the night. Dogs racing in the last race to be kennelled at the far end of kennelling area. Reinstate third place prizemoney Cost of things going up, trials, track entrance fees etc. More communication between the committee and the track Open trial session Public trials possibly held on a Friday over the summer Public trials before racing Seeding of unraced pups for their novice race Committee stood down and Martin Manning took chair to conduct election of committee for 2023: Chairman: Click Cowan was proposed by Sharon Flood and seconded by Kevin McCreesh David McErlean (in absence) was proposed by Gerard O`Neill and seconded by James Hynes .
