Cleanser was good but I think it has a fair way to go to be worthy of mention in the same breath as Fernando Bale.

Maybe see how it goes on return in moderate Goulburn to Bulli 5th grade heat before starting to draw comparisons between the two.

I hope it comes out and smashes the track record and then does similar at Bulli in the final but at the moment it is Fernando Bale then a gap to a handful of other extremely good dogs which still doesn't include Cleanser and the other potential future stars that have to race through the grades to make it to elite level.

EGS Group 1 winner in Victoria
Fern Bale multi state Group 1 winner
EGS best time at The Meadows 29.83sec
FB best time at The Meadows 29.55sec
EGS best time at Sandown 29.43sec (different track timing)
FB best time at Sandown 28.98sec (one of only how many to break 29 sec?)
EGS best time at Ballarat 25.06sec
FB best time at Ballarat 24.84sec
EGS ran 23.87sec on the old 430m Bendigo track
FB has just run the record of 23.38 on the new 425m Bendigo track

After 27 starts EGS had 21 wins, 3 seconds, no thirds and had won 2 Group 1's.

After 27 starts FB has 22 wins, 1 second, 1 third, 4 Group 1's and 1 Group 3.

EGS was an outstanding racedog and Brett Lee is king for me but no question Fernando Bale is putting together a top shelf career with a bit to go yet!

Id be comparing Black Magic Opal before El Grand Senor tbh.... But i dont see how any other dog can be honestly compared from the last 5 years, Fernando Bale is just an out and out freak.

Stephen Francis one of the few Australian breeders to use kelsos fusileer from the beginning here in Australia good foresight. Yes Steve cleanser has a away to go but fernando bale was a young dog at the beginning as was black magic opal, of the up and coming juveniles who would you rate who could possibly match it with him!
Cleanser is the only one I can think of, shame he had to have time off lead could be salivating at the two meeting!

But as Stephen Francis said he has a way to go before being mentioned in the same league as fernando bale!

Overrated my arse.Incredibly consistent at a pace all others cannot generate a TRUE flying machine with impeccable race manners.
Flying Amy head and shoulders above a lot you mentioned too.

I agree 100% with u Jim. FLYING AMY WOULD BRAIN ALL these champion K9's mentioned in my opinion ! I have seen ALL the K9 champions since BROTHER FOX & they DON'T COME ANY BETTER OR FASTER THAN FLYING AMY , trust me on that ! She trounced ALL THE champions & superstars of her era both male & female such as : NEW FOX , STAR TITLE , GOLDEN CURRENCY , GALLANT RULER , TAP DANCE , REFUEL , ON THE PAYROLL , NOVEMBER FOREST , RAILWAY ROAD etc etc , the list is endless , also ON ALL DIFFERENT tracks such as ; Grass shoe 457mts 2 LOAM 2 TURN 520mts in 3 different states in GROUP FINALS , as well as ALL the "hand picked" match races she contested against the local track champions/ specialists where 90% of the time she went around "BLIND" & ALWAYS WON IN B.O.N times, THAT'S UNHEARD OF these days ! Her record speaks 4 itself folks ! + she threw a champion JUST THE BEST who has continued her line 4ward , so that PROVES her 2 be a IMMORTAL CHAMPION ICON in my book ! As 4 FERNANDO , he has PROVEN himself 2 be mentioned in that group of illustrious K9's mentioned by other people as he is not just a "fast K9" like millions of others past & present being mentioned but a champion "RACE K9" & that's where the BIG DIFFERENCE IS , I'll have a "champion race K9" ANYDAY over a "fast K9" + he is part of a sensational litter , so that PROVES he is NOT A "1 off freak" in my opinion. CANNOT realistically compare champions from different era's in my book , as people have their own personal favourite K9. Just enjoy them all 4 what they really are : champions of their own time & era & be glad 2 have seen them as they are few & far between folks !

Cheers Steve I think Fernando is in her category he takes it as it comes also and takes no prisoners.

I amended it to include BMO as well. You'd have to say FB well ahead at the same stage of their respective careers. All outstanding racedogs!

You are forgetting another top sprinter in Paw Licking who in his first 27 starts

- won 19 races & 4 placings,

- broke 2 long standing track records at Casino and Lismore in his first 10 starts

- won the Group 2 Traralgon Cup beating General Destini, Gold Town, Peter Rocket and Desalle Bale

Doug

It's pretty obvious from those stats that the 'big' track records seem to fall to these dogs when they start to reach a more mature age and at the peak of their physical strength

Won't be any surprise to see FB claiming more records from this point onwards

Paw Licking was a fine animal BUT NO CHAMPION in my book. Watch WALK HARD give him a start & a beating in the Warragul Cup Final running a track record ! Don't 4get all after returning from a career ending stopper injury which would of finished most K9's ! WHAT A K9 ! HE IS SUPER FAST & A SUPER HARD CHASER ! The 2 main attributes I love in a sire. I CAN'T work out why he isn't attracting bitch's ! Outstanding in all facets + a blueblood pedigree as good as any around including having SPIRAL NIKITA as his damsire - a BIG + in my book. He'll DEFINATELY be meeting 1 of my prized bitch's in the not 2 distant future that's 4 CERTAIN ! Fernando's future as a sire is already cemented now even if he never wins another race !

He DIDN'T start off with what he has built up 2 now I bet my "jatz crackers" its been very hard work & MILLIONS spent 2 get where he is now ! Congrats 2 him & his family I say ! Steve no ones knocked the dog, nor have people stated they are jealous! I have clearly voice my oppinion on pricing of a freshman sire and the fact that it's a bit rich to say he is the best ever or better than certain talented dogs!

I'm NOT pointing the finger at you Sean but there ARE OTHERS that are say : jealous or maybe that's envious. He can price Fernando as he pleases in my book , either way the K9 WILL get plenty of interest of K9 breeders around the globe. Like I have said on different threads : IMPOSSIBLE 2 COMPARE CHAMPIONS of different era's & time's just enjoy them all as everybody has a certain favourite champion K9 of their own BUT Fernando has 2 be mentioned in the elite bunch cos of his achievements on the track WHETHER he's a success at stud or not will determine if he is 2 be an immortal in my own eyes. He's beaten EVERYTHING put in front of him & ya CAN'T DO ANYMORE THAN THAT ! End of story. Nobody is twisting your arm 2 use him at stud m8 that's up 2 u. Regards.

FERNANDO stamps himself as the PREMIER GREYHOUND in Australia...again, with another scintillating performance, taking out the BENDIGO CUP only 1/100's off the track record, that he set in last weeks heats.

The win makes it 15 race wins in-a-row.

Congrats to the Daily's & the PAW team.

Can he match the Ray Watson's trained "MISS ELLY MINT's" "straight-wins-record" of 16 wins in-a-row.
