outstanding dog far from overatted and i will put him in the champion racing class for me to get the champion tag and comparison to brett lee he will have to do it in the breeding barn too. Ray morcomb please tell me why shakey is overatted he ran 29.07 at wentworth park as a maiden who was not yet two year old on what was a standard wentworth park track. I know this as i had a dog trial after the last that night and let me tell you he didnt improve any on his times. To me he is far from overatted he has more knockers then any dog i have heard of before.

He is massively overrated, wouldn't stand a chance against past champions.

Overrated my arse.Incredibly consistent at a pace all others cannot generate a TRUE flying machine with impeccable race manners.
Flying Amy head and shoulders above a lot you mentioned too.

I agree 100% with u Jim. FLYING AMY WOULD BRAIN ALL these champion K9's mentioned in my opinion ! I have seen ALL the K9 champions since BROTHER FOX & they DON'T COME ANY BETTER OR FASTER THAN FLYING AMY , trust me on that ! She trounced ALL THE champions & superstars of her era both male & female such as : NEW FOX , STAR TITLE , GOLDEN CURRENCY , GALLANT RULER , TAP DANCE , REFUEL , ON THE PAYROLL , NOVEMBER FOREST , RAILWAY ROAD etc etc , the list is endless , also ON ALL DIFFERENT tracks such as ; Grass shoe 457mts 2 LOAM 2 TURN 520mts in 3 different states in GROUP FINALS , as well as ALL the "hand picked" match races she contested against the local track champions/ specialists where 90% of the time she went around "BLIND" & ALWAYS WON IN B.O.N times, THAT'S UNHEARD OF these days ! Her record speaks 4 itself folks ! + she threw a champion JUST THE BEST who has continued her line 4ward , so that PROVES her 2 be a IMMORTAL CHAMPION ICON in my book ! As 4 FERNANDO , he has PROVEN himself 2 be mentioned in that group of illustrious K9's mentioned by other people as he is not just a "fast K9" like millions of others past & present being mentioned but a champion "RACE K9" & that's where the BIG DIFFERENCE IS , I'll have a "champion race K9" ANYDAY over a "fast K9" + he is part of a sensational litter , so that PROVES he is NOT A "1 off freak" in my opinion. CANNOT realistically compare champions from different era's in my book , as people have their own personal favourite K9. Just enjoy them all 4 what they really are : champions of their own time & era & be glad 2 have seen them as they are few & far between folks !

We can never compare not should we but I do think a good rule of thumb would be the post to post off the fly at any major tracks because the post never shifts position
Fernando ran it in 23.97
Punch One Out in 29.93
Shakey Baby gee isn't that a great name 23.6
irrespective of time as long as the dog mentioned or talked about is leading at the mark then no reason to see why not because the Winning Post never shifts position and if it does we will all be notified
People talk of comparing and speed can anyone remember a little girl called
Amethyst Queen CLICK HERE what a bonny little box pinger I think she would possibly lead Fernando

So John you're suggesting we totally ignore the dogs initial run to the post? Seems like a method that will be skewed to staying types to me as their run homes will always be stronger. Wonder how that will work for El Grand Senor, El Galo, Brett Lee and other dogs that did their best work in the first two sections. Some pretty handy dogs in that bunch you're happy to pretty much discount. I get that you love Shakey Jakey and want to present a method that suits your argument but please, some common sense as well.

You can't just assume..."as long as the dog mentioned or talked about is leading at the mark" as only special ones will do that on a consistent basis in good company.

If you want to compare top end speed I would have thought clocking from winning post to the mark at the end of the back straight is a better leveller. Takes out lid pingers and also dogs that just have a great last section.

Doug there have been some very fine staying and middle distance greyhounds step down from the distance racing to contest the 500m and sometimes shorter sprints and they couldn't lead nor beat the best of the sprinters I know it would happen occassionly but not often I have seen Space Star trial 29.38 at Gosford pretty fair run for even a good 500m dog wouldn't you say
And yes I do like Shakey 1 because of his name Shakey can be used as a short name for Shakespeare and then that reminds me of 1 of the boys I played league with and it can be related to Willy yes William Shakespeare the 2nd reason is a pretty good reason a bloke from out Orange way bred and owns him a battler possibly in his own right and hopefully the dog will set him up for the rest of his life and I hope it does because Shakey is the pinnacle of breeding 3rdly he had a very fast dog and he had to make a decision stud or keep racing he took the stud option his call there no one else's and last but not least because he couldn't please the masses in a racing career on the track he has copped so much flack and ridicule because of the decidion that one D Pringle made ...hopefully he makes the grade in the barn and if he does I hope the knockers crawl back into the holes they came out of and say nought the fastest greyhound and run I saw prior to Shakey was on a 1 turn track called Harold Park and it was done by Brother Fox with Shakey he won by 20+ lgths and in the field of mediocre maidens were 3 other pups that went on to break 30 seconds at WP he is from a great Damline and has a 1/2 brother in Buck Fever I have heard some pups are going ok by him and if that is the case ..you knockers better start saving some dollars for Shakey because he may not have had a great racing career but id he clicks with some of these beautifully bred bitches that carry the right Import blood watch out Fernando has it over Shakey early to the 17 sec mark and what comes next is nothing but pure racing ability from a great pup

So do you want to win trials or races John? Of course staying types will run time solo and I'm guessing his run home time was outstanding but who would you want your house on in an Easter Egg final if they were all the same price? Fernando or Space Star?

Just so we're clear John I'm not knocking Shakey Jakey so if the 'you knockers' comment was aimed at me you're wide of the mark. I just don't think the way you're trying to knock other dogs by constantly saying he's better is right either. Shakey was undoubtedly fast and has a nice pedigree to match bitches too but I won't use him until he's proven as a sire because I didn't get a chance to watch enough of him on the racetrack to decide what the rest of his makeup was like as far as things like chase, soundness etc etc go. There's been plenty of fast dogs beat up on maidens that then didn't go on with it for one reason or another but certainly the time he ran was really outstanding, no doubting that. For that reason he's one I'll watch with interest when his first pups step out but I'm not prepared to use him until then due to the ifs buts and maybes that go with a short race career.

Support him certainly but to try and knock a dog that has had 26 starts for 21 wins, including 4 Group 1's, and over $600k in prizemoney to make your point is pretty poor for mine.

agree with Doug, FB has the runs on the board. Win to Loss ratio in top class/group events is out standing. He isnt just winning, he is shitting it in.(against good dogs from the same kennel too) Do you knockers put your punt money against him?

Tom I am not Knocking Fernando Bale and the one thing you are forgetting Tom when it comes to racing the runs on the board should and does help and so do the $'s but 1 D Pringle has the runs in the barn and there are around 420 of them and some great looking little animals with the oldest at 10 mths or around there like David made the decision I have seen Shakey in the flesh and he is 1 great looking dog even with his scars.Just think for a moment this dog ran a track record at Headquarters that Punch One Out held and Fernando could only equal it in his prime and after 21 sts and remember also Punch One Out also broke the record at Richmond in under 30 seconds and talking of Richmond just Imagine what Shakey could have possibly done there because it would have suited the dog far better to me that's a great guide for assessing Shakey's ability because she too was a group winner and she only held the record for a short time
And No Doug I don't think your knocking Shakey at all sitting on the fence is the right way to go and when it comes to Fernando's turn to hit the sire scene well he has all the hype and people will be clamouring for his Frozen I think Wheeler won't be doing too many favors for the breeders in general upwards to 3000 for mine ...I'll be nailed to the fence me

look I think he is a good dog not a champion though and as I said it worries me not what a dog runs on these bodgied sand tracks and you can bet your balls that a record seeking track will be sought for him and doctored to suit yes 400m should suit him Mick i'll watch on TV I have a feeling this is our 1st million dollar racer ...go Shakey a true record breaker where it counts WP

The question with fernando bale is not how good he is, or if he is or isn't a champion dog. It is how a half outcrossed sire is going to mix with our lines that interests me most, the fact that apart from the kelsos fusileer Chloe Allen failed to throw to the same degree to both cosmic chief and dyna Lachlan (a few city winners).

Good dogs fail at stud all the time, but sure he is worth a shot if not because he offers something different to all sides at stud! Hopefully he I priced fairly. You would be blessed to get him at $1650.

her 1st litter produced 8 pups 5 winners averaging 2 wins per pup 3700 average per pup and 1 of these won 9 races from 15 wins to = 18000
to Cosmic Chief she up dated or improved well above that 12500 or there abouts there were 2 reasonably performed pups in the litter averaging 6 wins each or around 48 races 8 pups born ...so she done her job by Improving her averages
1650 your dreaming I think closer to 3000
