EGS was lucky with box draws no one can deny that.
Raising Apache Leap as you have Sandro, I'd say he will struggle to get 135 bitches his whole stud life. Why is that? Same breeding, group one experience, bigger dog, cheaper stud price.

With all due respect to Stuart, Apache Leap had nowhere near the same motor as his brother but was a pretty good race dog and he managed to make a G1 final.
That's what the line produces, professional race dogs.

I don't know what you are reading but I still am sticking up for him.
IMHO he wasn't anywhere near as fast as Magic Sprite.
It doesn't mean I don't respect Apache Leap as a race dog. I'll take 10 of him thanks..

I guess I'm reading u know how fast the 2 were. Maybe u do, but I doubt it. Anyway, I wouldn't argue that he was faster, but your two statements read pretty funny to me. I suppose you just don't get the irony of the 2 statements, but I can't help that.

I'd love to know what you are smoking LOL
I know how fast Magic Sprite was. That's all that concerns me and its pretty obvious he was faster than his brother.
What else do you want to read into it?

With all due respect Sean. You should get your facts right too. If Rebel Lodge says they're too busy u can guarantee they are too busy mate. I'll bet London to a brick Magic Sprite was a frozen implant not fresh AI & as u say he was pretty quick so either method will get results if it's meant to be.
As far as the litter is concerned. I stand corrected. Apache Leap is the only well performed littermate. Most of the bitches were 5th graders, nothing wrong with that either but that's what they were, and I bet as the breeder they would have been a bit disappointed.
Magic Sprite owned by a studmaster, marketed well, has had every chance to go forward, although at the price I'm sure he got a few ordinary bitches too. As I said I'll wait & see how he goes before I would use him. Either way I'm sure the owner & u shouldn't lose too much sleep in the meantime.
Ps: talking facts: I paraphrase u " believe me I've had every breed" PMSL!!!
Glenn with all due respect if cosmic is not available fresh AI have the manners and respect not to advertise him as such that's all I'm saying. None the less I will use him frozen if his pups prove

Why did magic sprite only have 10 starts ??? injured or guarantee a stud career b4 it gets too tough in good company?
Iam sure he had a career injury I have no idea but a broken hock or dropped back muscle would be the only reason I would consider using him. No disrespect to Magic sprite he fell in melbourne first and only start and best dog he beat was bandanna man whom else has he beat? apart from the clock the quality of opposition was????
A LOT of top dogs have a career record of 8 from 10, 10 from 11 , 7 from 10 ect ect its the next 10-20 starts that determine a champion as it gets harder no maiden fields or grade 5 fields. If you get your record turn it 20 from 30 or so your a very very good dog.
A great example Enry walt record at sand against the best for over 2 years is super and throw in radley bale.
At least Apache leap was raced under constant injuries against some good opposition. Thats what you have to ask yourself
Head Honcho was just a VERY good dog before his injury...imagine if they hadnt got him back for those last 1/2 a dozen starts..would that many have used him?
