We bought Tommys Girl as a pup from a Repeat mating. She was decent but the whole litter were not as good as the first. A 3rd repeat mating was the worst of the three litters.

The following is a quote from the original post, that the late Sue Burley started 3 years ago.

Q. Have you ever bred a repeat mating?
A. No.

Q. Would you breed a repeat mating in the future?
A. Yes.

Q. Would you buy a pup from repeat mating?
A. Yes.

Comment: "If the first mating was a success then I would certainly go to the same sire again. In fact Iplan tomate Offspringer with Mogambo again as the first litter has produced Echelon and Granduer."

Interesting read. I think I would consider a repeat mating after reading comments from some top breeders.

I have a litter to a second or repeat mating. PAW does not recommend it so I will probably not do so again. I do notice however Surf Lorian was the result of a second mating so I wont give up hope.

Roxholme Ted is from a repeat mating and won at Wimbledon on Saturday night (19th Apr) in a Derby Trial stakes in adj 28.36.
2 of the other 3 bitches in the second litter have records of 1-1 and 1-2 so far too, so it's definitely worked for us.

Would you improve going to another sire maybe and maybe not however the bitch is always the main reason to be a successfully bred litter.
A repeat mating is no different the pair can click again or maybe not it could be as good but also it could be better nothing will say that a different sire would click either.
