Fabregas ,chase and early.

The last litter we bred was a choice between Fabregas and Djays Octane. Talk about getting it completely wrong. Lol

I love Aston Dee Bee but I think it's starting to look like his pups chase like demons when they're out in front, but like most sires you don't see too many come from off the pace and win

This was the result. Fastest dog we've bred, but also the lowest. I was hoping the refresh the line. In hindsight, we should have stuck with the locals.

This subject came up in a different way some time back.

I have no expertise but surely the way to go forward is to install a system which lists every sires' Group winners and ordinary winners - cumulatively - as a percentage of total pups reaching the track.

This gives everyone a factual starting point - as it does for thoroughbreds.

It's the sort of thing that should be right down the alley of GA with access to form and the Stud Book.

In particular, this would bypass the current practice of rating sires and dams by points awarded in Group races only and for just the current year. That is misleading.

Yeah I actually agree with you Bruce, should be simplified for ease to look up.

I think people would breed very different if you could look up for each sire in one place for each year
* Number of matings
* Litters born
* Pups born
* Pups named
* Pups started
* What distance pups are racing over
* Number of tier 3/non tab starters
* Number of tier 3/non tab winners
* Number of tab starters
* Number of tab winners
* Number of city starters
* Number of city winners
* Number of group starters
* Number of group winners

It can probably be all found, but not in one place

Should also be stats

- % of pups with Marring/FTC Charges to Starters as well

- % of Unnamed pups to pups born

- % of Non-Winners to Pups that have Raced

Barcia & Fernando Bale throw good chasing traits into their pups going by what I've noticed & results seem to back up my thoughts. But 70% of the time its the broodbitch's "quality" that will determine what the litter turns out like at the end of the day from our experiences. So only breeding from the best performed bitches gives the breeder a decent chance to produce pups that chase honestly all the time as every sire throws ordinary chasers from time to time & this is a fact proven since day 1. So breed only with honest chasing bitches with ability & hope the sire throws plenty of "himself" into the litter. Regards.

I'll ask this age old question again. What are the current hard chase sires? A mate of mine has a very fast bitch who is a nonnie, she won't pass the leader. She is absolutely brilliant, having trialled sub 30 at Albion Park.

I believe the sire that I can see at the moment throwing pure chase is Bernardo

I don't have any pups of his, so really its only my observation, but they seem to get out oof the boxes in a hurry and be fearless to get to the lead, to me thats a good sign of hard chase

The Shima Shines I have seen so far seem to have no trouble wanting to get to the lead early either

Beast Unleashed & Ando's Mac pups also seem to have these positive traits

Then theres your old faithful like Aston Dee Bee, Magic Sprite, El Grand Senor etc

For what it's worth Dixie you did the right thing getting some outcross blood into a tired line, a bitch from that litter could throw a good pup.Always ify with a full blown outcross sire.

A couple more worth mentioning would be Aussie Infrared and Ritza Lenny

Generally good chasers
