Ah ha ha Jack!!
More confused than ever!! LOL!
I like Barcia Bale but havent convinced myself to gamble so much yet.
Dee Bee would have been awesome but he's almost done at stud - such a shame, hes not that old.
DDO looks good on paper and he has some VERY good dogs out of Collision bitches BUT Im not hearing a lot of positivity about him.
MBF - looks good but havent started looking for a vial as yet - I believe they are hard to get hold of.
A number of people have suggested doubling up on Fernando but I think its a bit close?
I like Orson Allen too but he may not be producing enough top flight dogs?
And then there is Rupee - love the dog, love the pedigree - gives me Barcia Bale, Fernando and litter sister to Dee Bee. 2 Gable Dodge. 3 Dutch Bahama, 2 Bombastic, the Pedro Hallucinate cross, ...and more. BUT hes unproven. In saying that, with the amount and the calibre of bitches he has had/is having, plus his obvious ability and beautiful breeding I cant see how he can fail at stud? And the people I have spoken to that have his pups are raving over them.

Hi Donna

Would you consider something like this; brings in the brother and sister Bit Chili and Tifi on top and bottom lines - and the sire was a gun plus brings Barcia into the equation.

I reckon Nathan is on the mark with his comments. Barcia Bale is the best chase sire we've seen for the last decade. Putting her to Barcia Bale will cost you a lot more, but it will also add thousands to the value of each pup. Aston Rupee would be great option for future litters, he should be close to be proven by then. Just my opinion.

Pretty much! :-)
Barcia, Dee Bee, Rupee, Jungle Deuce, Raw Ability.... with very sound, clear and proven ideas for each dog.
Thankyou SO much to everyone who has taken the time to try and help me out with this one.
Looking at the success of the Barcia/Fernado cross and also the fact that Cindy Maree's dam's litter sister Zagati threw a very impressive litter to Barcia including the super Miss Ezmae, I had always liked Barcia for her but was too scared to buy a straw! LOL!
You guys on here, other breeders and trainers and David all supported that idea so I really got to thinking on it.
I have bitten the bullet LOL! - so I believe I'll put her to Barcia first and later on Rupee (who I think will be awesome for her too)
She obviously didnt reach the heights of some of her litter (Good Odds Cash, Caroline, Subtle Art, Ben Mayo or three quarter siblings Good Odds Harada , Feral Franky, etc but losing a toe on her third start and continuing her career with that injury, may have not helped her performances. Even so she managed three BONs in her eight wins and her last three starts were group finals. A fall in her last start prompted the idea to retire her, at only 27 months of age, she looked to be just hitting her straps - but who knows?
I am just excited to have had the opportunity to obtain this good little bitch and look forward to being back in the industry and having lots of fun.
A big thankyou to Paul Bonner, of Highlife Kennels, for letting me have Cindy.

Well done and congrats Donna ! Smart choice

Dont worry about careers and who ran what , breeding barn is a new level playing field , the fastest runner in litter is no a gaurentee to do the same in the breeding barn !

Get her checked out Donna by a greyhound vet who knows his numbers and levels spot on
Thyroid .etc and cleaned out ! Youve done everything you can till then , up to her then .

Organise either yourself or who the rearer is that they are in paddocks ! Not kennels or straight runs ! But big open paddocks where natural running is 2nd nature to them !

Congrats again Im sure youll keep us up to date as they go

Youll love em thats what barcia gaurentees

Thankyou Nathan for your advice and support.
On my old farm the pups had acres to run in, I agree one hundred per cent they need that room to learn how to gallop, how to handle themselves and build good muscle and bone.
And, yes I will get all the vet stuff done,
Thanks again.

Did she not?
I am only repeating what her owner told me, I will check with him. To be honest, I havent gone back and checked race by race, so we'll see. And if that info is not right, I will correct it. :-)

Following on from Dixie's raised eyebrows, Donna re: her last three runs being in Group finals..

EXTERNAL LINK

Regardless of, perhaps, the slight exaggeration it's obvious she COULD run time.

Hi Donna,
A very good choice of brood bitch in my opinion, good that you are back after all this time.
A lot has changed over the years, Australian breeders have been putting speed to speed for many years , hence the number of hounds that can now only race over 275 -400 mts is huge
Your bitch is from a good line that is strong , i would think it is a good idea to keep it this way.

Have a good hard look at Superior Panama , in this dog you have the best from USA ,Ireland and the UK . No 300.400 mt short coursers
Also you have Just Lilly, the litter sister to the great Ballyregan Bob, plus many more great dual distance 480 -750mt dogs further back. best of luck Donna .

One of those last 3 races was a 4th in a heat of the Lismore Cup held a Casino. She did also run in heats of the Ipswich and Casino Cup late in her career. She certainly didn't disgrace herself in any of those Group heats. Interestingly she took about 25 starts to win her next race after breaking her Maiden on debut Considering she eventually ran sub 30 at Wenty, good time at the Gardens and great times at Ipswich, it's a wonderful advertisement for persistence.

Hi Paul, as I said to Michael, apologies for the mis information I passed on. As you say, regardless of whether she was in finals or not she was handy and ran some good times. She lost her toe on her third start, and it appears that she struggled after that a bit. To this day, she can be quite odd about that foot so it does still bother/annoy her to some extent.
Yes they did persist and good on them. They always thought she was going to be be special, hence her purchase very early on in her racing days, the toe happened and they hoped against hope it wouldnt affect her and she would come back and prove them right. I dont know about you but over the years I had a few nasty toes injuries which forced the removal of that toe and I dont think any of those dogs came back to what they were before the injury.

Hi Roger, thankyou so much for your advice and good wishes.
Very good points. I do like the US sires for strength and tenacity, hence I like Rupee for her next time, with hopefully KC consolidating strength in the pedigree. .
I will look into Superior Panama.
